A dispute led to the burning of an Akwa Ibom State University (AKSU) student at a fuel station.

On Sunday, the incident occurred at the Obio Okpa campus’ Udo Idiong Junction.

According to reports, Enwongo Akpan, a 200-level philosophy student, had a disagreement with a roadside petrol dealer over his product.

Akpan was said to have purchased N500 worth of gasoline from a roadside vendor.

Following that, the student was said to have confronted the petrol vendor after unknowingly purchasing “adulterated” fuel.

The victim was said to have returned the fuel to the dealer after claiming that it didn’t power his generator, and the two got into an argument.

During the altercation, the petrol dealer is accused of pouring the contents of the gallon on Akpan and setting him ablaze.

He was said to have struck a match on him before catching fire while others scurried for safety.

The police in Akwa Ibom State have declared the roadside petrol dealer wanted for setting Akpan on fire.
