Unknown Yaba College of Technology student from Lagos was killed by a suspected cultist on Thursday night, around 9 o’clock.

The student was shot twice while other students fled for safety, according to our correspondent who was in the building at the time of the incident.

She was behind the student who was shot, according to a fellow student named Tayo Aina.

She said, “I was going to night class because my final exam is tomorrow and the next thing I heard was a gunshot and the guy behind me fell,” in a nervous voice.

I’m not sure exactly how many guys were standing there, but I could see one of them had a gun as I sprinted for safety.

Another student, who only gave her name as Mujibat, said that the school needed to put an end to the level of cult killings and shootings.

She said, “During my National Diploma days, someone was also killed on the day before our matric. This has happened before, and there has been absolutely no progress on the problem.

Mujibat mentioned that when she heard gunshots and saw students scurrying for cover, she was also en route to the night class.

The public relations officer for the Lagos State Police, Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed the incident’s veracity.

Further information would be made public by the police following investigations, he added.

All attempts to contact the school’s rector were unsuccessful.
