Following the release of all abducted victims of the Abuja-Kaduna train incident, the terrorists may have been paid over N6 billion to release the majority of their prisoners.

On March 28, 2022, terrorists attacked an Abuja-Kaduna passenger train, killing approximately 14 people and abducting 63 others.

However, the attack led the Nigeria Railway Corporation, NRC, to briefly halt operations while President Muhammadu Buhari urged security services to rescue the victims.

On Wednesday, 23 remaining detainees were liberated nearly six months after they were seized by Boko Haram insurgents.

Usman Yusuf, Secretary of the Chief of Defence Staff Action Committee, delivered the good news.
