A female corpse has been discovered beneath the AYA bridge on the Nyanya-Keffi road in Abuja.

A witness, simply identified as Shedrack, stated that the female corpse was discovered around 5 a.m. on Saturday, and that it was possibly dumped under the bridge by suspected ritualists.

He went on to say that some vehicles coming from the opposite axis of Nyanya ran over the corpse, making identification difficult.

DSP Adeh Josephine, a spokeswoman for the FCT police command, confirmed the discovery of two corpses but stated that it was a hit-and-run motor/motorcycle accident.

According to her, a preliminary investigation by the police command revealed that the police discovered two lifeless bodies, one male and one female.

According to her, as soon as the command control room received the information from a good Samaritan, operatives from the Asokoro division were dispatched to the scene to remove the body to the hospital, where it was confirmed dead and subsequently deposited at the Asokoro mortuary.

She stated that the investigation has been stepped up in order to apprehend the perpetrators, and that contact has been established with the deceased’s family.
