The Nigerian Aviation Handling Company and the Skyway Aviation Handling Company Limited have raised cargo handling fees by 100%, which has caused disagreement among freight forwarders working in the country’s aviation and marine sectors.

The Association of Nigerian Licensed Customs Agents vehemently opposed the decision, which was recently criticized by two cargo handling businesses, NAHCO and SAHCO.

Members of the ANCLA later suspended operations at the airport in opposition to the rise.

Speaking to journalists on Thursday in Ikeja, Lagos, Mr. Frank Ogunojemite, President of the Africa Association of Professional Freight Forwarders and Logistics of Nigeria, an organization for agents, said the association was not opposed to the recent tariff increase by the aviation handling companies.
