The Academic Staff Union of Universities’ strike, which has been ongoing for six months, has been ended, according to Imo State University, Owerri (ASUU).

On Tuesday, September 20, the university asked both its students and staff to return.

According to Ralph Njoku, the university’s public relations officer, the administration has just decided to end the ongoing strike in the best interests of the faculty and staff at the institution.

He claimed that radio stations had received a statement announcing the news, which would begin airing repeatedly on Monday afternoon.

“The management has just decided to ask students to resume right away,” Njoku said. Tuesday is the start of classes. For the benefit of our students and employees, we are taking this action. We have requested that everyone return to school right away in addition to ending our participation in the ASUU strike.
