The Muslim Rights Concern (MURIC) has assisted Professor Wahab Egbewole in his emergency as the University of Ilorin’s 12th Vice Chancellor. “A new Vice Chancellor has been announced at the University of Ilorin,” said MURIC’s director, Professor Ishaq Akintola, in a congratulatory message. Professor Wahab Olasupo Egbewole is his name. He will take over for Professor Sulyman AbdulKareem Age, whose five-year term ends on October 15, 2022.

“In a hotly contested exercise, Egbewole defeated 29 contestants, 13 of whom were shortlisted for the highly coveted office of the prestigious tertiary institution.”

“As a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), Egbewole has spent 25 years as a legal luminary at the university, holding a Ph.D in law and jurisprudence.” As a result, he is uniquely qualified for the position of vice chancellor.”

While praising the university’s Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the Governing Council, as well as members of the council, for their objectivity and adherence to due process in their search for a new vice chancellor, the group noted that it was their adherence to high level standards and global best practices that resulted in the great asset that Professor Egbewole represents.
