Terrorists have raided the Dajin Mare hamlet in Katsina State’s Dandume Local Government Area, abducting two mothers and their three children.

Although police have yet to corroborate the event, eyewitnesses informed Channels Television that the terrorists stormed the neighborhood on Saturday night.

The terrorists were claimed to have spent roughly 30 minutes shooting irregularly with sophisticated weapons before being repulsed by security personnel.

This event occurred just two days after police freed 21 abduction victims, including 15 women and six children, in the State’s Dutsinma Local Government Area.

The victims were rescued on Friday after the Katsina State Police Command received a distress call that militants on motorbikes were attacking Buraji and Sabon Sara villages and shooting sporadically with AK-47 weapons.

They robbed 20 cows in addition to abducting their victims.

The scenario compelled Mohammad Makama, Area Commander of Dutsinma, to lead a squad of police tactical units that blocked their evacuation routes at Gandun Sarki hamlet, engaged them in a hard gun duel, and successfully rescued the victims.

Gambo Isah, the state Police Public Relations Officer, issued a statement saying that several terrorists were killed and that some escaped with gunshot wounds.

He stated that an investigation into the matter is continuing.
