The Nigeria Railway Corporation has halted train services between Lagos and Kano and Ajaokuta due to the threat of terrorist attacks. Due to the attack on some passengers by g#nmen on Monday, August 1, the Nigeria Railway Corporation has suspended services at the Ajaokuta station along the Warri-Itakpe route.

The Lagos-Kano train services have been suspended due to increased insecurity in Niger and Kaduna states, through which the train traveling from Lagos to Kano passes.

Fidget Okhiria, the NRC’s Managing Director, stated that the NRC has not completely ceased services along the Warri-Itakpe route, but will no longer stop at the Ajaokuta station for the foreseeable future.

Apart from the Abuja-Kaduna route, he stated that the corporation had also suspended services on the Lagos-Kano route due to security concerns.
