Three brothers were detained for robbery in Ogun State’s Ijebu Ode area.
In a statement, the state’s police public relations officer identified the accused as Hammed Jagbojagbo, Idris Jagbojagbo, Tobi Jagbojagbo, and Tosin Ogundeko.
The fourth individual, on the other hand, is a friend. Their arrest was made in response to an allegation filed by Ijebu Ode locals that several gunmen robbed a lottery agent of N90,000 in the town’s Odi Olowo area.
According to the police spokesman, the robbery suspects also stole a Bajaj motorcycle before being apprehended by a police patrol unit.
He claimed that the suspects admitted further that they were all based in Epe but picked Ijebu-Ode as their base of operations.
“Upon receiving the distress call, the DPO Igbeba division, CSP Musiliu Doga, swiftly led his patrol team to the scene, gave the robbers a vigorous chase, and succeeded in arresting one of them by the name Tosin Ogundeko, from whom the Bajaj motorcycle was recovered,” the statement added.
“The arrested Tosin Ogundeko subsequently led detectives to their hideout in Epe, Lagos State, where the remaining three were apprehended; but one of them, simply named as Tosin, a.k.a socket, escaped.”
One cut-to-size locally-made gun and one Bajaj motorcycle were retrieved from the alleged robbers.
Meanwhile, Lanre Bankole, the Commissioner of Police, ordered that the suspects be immediately transferred to the State Criminal Inquiry Department for discreet investigation.
The police commissioner also ordered a huge manhunt for the gang’s fugitive.
