‘Seyi Makinde, Governor of Oyo State, has stated that his administration will leave a legacy that makes justice accessible to the common man.

The governor stated at the 2022 Justice Day, held at the Ministry of Justice, Secretariat, Agodi Ibadan, that governments must make the justice system less intimidating to the common man.

According to Mr. Taiwo Adisa, the governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Justice Day is important not only to the Ministry of Justice but also to the Judiciary as a whole.

As a result, the governor promised to constantly improve the welfare of the state’s judicial officers.

“We are trying to leave a legacy in which the judicial system is less intimidating to the common man,” he said. So you can connect what is happening here today to the common man having access to materials that would require extensive research to obtain. As a result, things are becoming simpler.

“I’ve always admired lawyers’ ability to construct sound and logical arguments.” As an engineer, I get logic from data, whereas you get logic from the constitution.

“Well, most lawyers make sound and logical arguments, and we in this administration are also lawyers because our decisions are based on data and logic.” And, using logic, we determined that one of the things we need to do is reform the judicial system by granting it independence.” We know that people in our country dislike going to court and consider it a waste of time. They try to find another way to obtain justice.

“The House of Assembly passed and I signed the Judicial Autonomy Bill.” Indeed, our judiciary is the last hope of the common man.

“Since I signed the bill last year, funding for the judiciary has been a first-line charge from the federal allocation.” However, I have heard from them that Oyo State civil servants are paid on the 25th, which does not apply to the judiciary. However, I will state that this occurs because FAAC arrives late, causing a delay in the payment of the Judiciary.

“However, because this is Oyo State, we can work through it.” We are constantly faced with challenges that must be overcome.

“Another important aspect we have pursued is an examination of the infrastructure in the Judiciary to ensure that our officers are working in a conducive environment to facilitate the administration of legal justice.” Even the Ministry of Justice, whenever I see a file from your end, I always approve it right away.

“As you may be aware, we have awarded a contract for the renovation of the court complex.” It is also documented that we have provided more vehicles to judges than any previous administration.
” I know we still have a long way to go, but rest assured that we will get there.”
Earlier, the honorable Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Prof. Oyelowo Oyewo, stated that Justice Day, 2022 was planned to highlight the Ministry’s contributions and impact on the current administration in the State.

He praised the Ministries, Agencies, and Security Agencies that had collaborated with the Ministry.

The event saw the unveiling of the Portrait of the Attorney General of Oyo State, the presentation of the Law Officers’ Alteration Dress Code, a summary of the performance and impact of the Oyo State Ministry of Justice under Governor Seyi Makinde’s administration, and the public presentation of Pacesetter Law Journal.
