The Fourth Mainland Bridge in Lagos is being built, and the Lagos State Government has chosen three bidders for this project through its Office of Public-Private Partnerships.

The Mota-Engil (Nigeria & Africa) CCCC & CRBC consort, the CGGC-CGC Joint Venture, and the CCECC & CRCCIG Consortium are the three bidders who have been shortlisted for the RFP Stage II, according to Mr. Ope George, Special Adviser to the Governor on PPP.

An announcement made late on Saturday contained this information.

According to George, the construction and operation of a green field tolled road and bridge with a design speed of 120 km/h, as well as the development of adjacent real estate, were all included in the fourth mainland bridge project, which was a Public-Private Partnership transport infrastructure development.

He said that when it is finished, the bridge will have three toll plazas, nine interchanges, a 4.5 km lagoon bridge, and an eco-friendly setting, making it the second longest in Africa.

The bridge, which will begin at Abraham Adesanya in Ajah on the Eti-Osa-Lekki-Epe corridor, will span approximately 37 kilometers, he continued, traveling from the northwest to the lagoon shoreline of the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway via Owutu/Isawo in Ikorodu.

The Special Adviser noted that the project is anticipated to cost about $2.5 billion and that it is intended to reduce severe congestion on the Third Mainland Bridge while opening new areas for future development.

He explained that the Request for Proposal Stage I and Stage II, which were sent to the three shortlisted bidders Mota-Engil (Nigeria & Africa) CCCC & CRBC consort, CGGC-CGC Joint Venture, and CCECC & CRCCIG Consortium, were part of the project’s competitive bidding process.

The Evaluation Committee, which consists of representatives from the Ministry of Works, Office of Public-Private Partnerships, and project advisers, began reviewing the RFP Stage II documents submitted by the three shortlisted bidders on November 17, 2022, and the Special Adviser claimed that the preferred bidder would be revealed before the end of the calendar year.
