Elder Godsday Orubebe, the former Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, has officially signed the APC membership register in his Tuomo Ward Three in Delta State’s Burutu Local Government Area.

Remember that Orubebe, a key minister during President Goodluck Jonathan’s administration, recently left the Peoples Democratic Party PDP over squabbles that erupted following the recent presidential primary election, which produced former Vice President Atiku Abubakar as flagbearer.

Orubebe was also well-known for openly opposing the collation of presidential election results following the 2015 general elections.

Speaking at the event, which was attended by a large crowd of party supporters, the former Minister thanked the party’s local government executive members and all those who left their various homes and businesses to welcome him into the party.

He promised to work with all party members without discrimination.

Orubebe, the Director-General of the APC flag bearer in the 2023 governorship election, Deputy Senate President, Ovie Omo-Agege, told the party that a rally where many politicians from other parties will join the party will be held soon.

He assured party members that under his leadership, the party would win elections in the local government area for the first time. He also stated that he believes Omo-Agege will win the governorship election and that development will come to the Ijaw region.

Earlier, Mr. Nana, the APC chairman in the LGA, stated that the entry of Orubebe was a good omen for the party, claiming that the party had been more or less an orphan or sheep without a Shepherd.

He requested cooperation from party members now that a ‘experienced leader has joined the party.’

Among those in attendance were former Delta State Commissioner of Transport, Barrister Bosin Ebikeme, business mogul, Chief Clement Moni, APC State Financial Secretary, Mr. Theodore Ezonfade, Ambassador Felix Datuowei, Barrister Dickson Bekederemo, and many others.
