The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chapter in Osun state suspended all political activities for the remainder of the week on Tuesday in response to the passing of Ifeanyi, the son of David Adeleke, better known by his stage name Davido.

In a message of condolence to the Adeleke family, PDP State Caretaker Chairman Dr. Adekunle Akindele issued a directive for all party organs and committees to halt operations in solidarity with the family. He described the incident as a very sad occurrence.

He said, “We mourn the painful passing of our son, Ifeanyi. We offer up prayers for his soul’s peace. Although it is a sad day, we do not waver in our belief in the Supreme Being.

We offer Davido, our youth ambassador, our condolences. We express our sorrow to Dr. Deji Adeleke, our father figure, and the entire Adeleke family. We ask the good Lord to give the family the fortitude to endure this tragic loss.

Ademola Adeleke, the new governor of the State who won the election in July on the PDP ticket, is related to Davido.

The music star was actively involved in the election.
