Yakubu Dogara, a former speaker of the House of Representatives, has warned of an alleged plot by Barau Joel Amos to assassinate him with the assistance of two police officers from the Bauchi State police command.

Dogara claimed that Inspectors Dakat Samuel and Auwalu Mohammed were working with Amos to hatch the plot in a petition to the Inspector General of Police, Usman Alkali.

The lawmaker for the Bogoro, Dass, Tafawa Balewa Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives claimed that Amos, who he claimed wants to kill him, was buying assault rifles from the two inspectors who he claimed were looting the police arsenal in Bauchi State.

Dogara claimed that although the police had detained Amos, the alleged inspectors were still at large.

He stated that even though the issue had already been brought up with the state’s Deputy Commissioner of Police, Criminal Investigation Department, he still felt it was important to also alert the IGP.

The petition stated in part, “I am sure you are aware of the matter since it involves looting of your armoury in Bauchi by the very officers who are responsible for the safe custody of your arms and a constituent of mine, Barau Joel Amos, who sought to buy or has been buying from the officers.”
