A two-story building in the Onipanu bus stop area of Lagos State has collapsed, injuring ONE person.
It happened this morning around 12:45 am on Oke Arin Street, which is off of Shyllon Street in Ilupeju.

Dr. Oluwafemi Oke-Osanyintolu, the permanent secretary of LASEMA, stated in his update, “Upon arrival at the incident scene, an abandoned 2-story building collapsed to ground zero. Further investigation established that the incident happened as a result of the structure’s aging.

“Thankfully, no one perished. One adult male who received a minor injury was nonetheless transported to the hospital. In order to avoid any threat, the impacted building has been cordoned off.

Operation finished, and Cobra team is returning to base.

Across from Number 17, Cardoso Street, off Martins Street, in Mushin, a church building that was still being built collapsed two weeks ago.

According to a probe by The ICIR, the Lagos State Building Control Agency (LASBCA), which it designated as distressed and promised to demolish on May 26, 2022, has yet to demolish a three-story building at 5, Alayaki Lane in Lagos Island.
