Ademola Adeleke, the PDP candidate for governor of Osun State in 2022, has been congratulated by President Muhammadu Buhari for her victory.

After defeating the incumbent governor, Gboyega Oyetola, INEC declared Mr. Adeleke the winner of the election.

The PDP candidate received 403,371 votes, according to the results released by the Chief Returning Officer for the Osun election, Oluwatoyin Ogundipe, while the incumbent Governor and candidate for the All Progressives Congress, Gboyega Oyetola, received 375,027 votes.

In a message of congratulations posted on his official Facebook page, Mr. Buhari stated that the state’s citizens had spoken through the voting process and added that in a democracy, the people’s will must always prevail.

The president also reaffirmed his promise to leave a legacy of trustworthy elections.

He continued by saying that the election’s success is a manifest example of the stakeholders’ dedication to enhancing the electoral process.

I congratulate Senator Ademola Adeleke, a member of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), on winning the governor of Osun election. Through the ballot, the people of Osun have voiced their opinions.

“Respect for the people’s will is at the heart of democracy.

“The #OsunDecides2022 election was successfully conducted, demonstrating the maturity and dedication of all stakeholders to enhancing the credibility of Nigeria’s electoral process.

The president continued, “I remain fully committed to leaving behind a legacy of credible elections in Nigeria.
