‘Rave & Roses’, Rema’s debut project, has set a new record for the longest charting album on Billboard 200 by a Nigerian artiste.

The 16-track collection was released by the music sensation in March 2022.

Rema included international artists such as 6lack, Chris Brown, AJ Tracey, and Yseult on the album.

This week, Rema surpassed the record for the longest-running album in the US Billboard 200, an accomplishment previously held by Sunny Ade, the ace musician, for four decades.

The famous musician released his critically acclaimed album ‘Juju Music’ in 1982.

The album spent 29 weeks on the Billboard 200 chart, from May 1, 1983 to September 1, 1983. Until recently, it was the longest-running Nigerian album in the chart’s history.

As of this week, ‘Rave & Roses’ has spent its 30th week on the chart, a new record.

In 2019, he secured a record deal with D’Prince’s Jonzing World, a Mavin Records subsidiary.

The singer launched his self-titled first EP ‘Rema’ in 2019, which reached at number one on Apple Music Nigeria.

Rema earned the ‘Next Rated’ award in 2019 and was nominated for Viewer’s Choice at The Headies’ 13th edition.

He won the Soundcity MVP Award for ‘Best New Artiste’ in January 2020.

In April, the album’s track ‘Calm Down’ became the longest-charting African song on the Billboard Hot 100.
