Sunday Oliseh, a former Nigerian captain, has been appointed by FIFA as a Technical Expert for the Qatar World Cup in 2022.
In a six-person panel for the single biggest sporting event in the world, Oliseh will collaborate with former Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger and World Cup winner Jurgen Klinnsman.
The 48-year-old most recently served as the head coach of SV Straelen in Germany’s Regionalliga West league until his departure in August. He also served as the Super Eagles’ coach for a seven-month period from July 2015 to February 2016.
On Saturday, Oliseh announced his new position on Twitter. He has since started preparing with his colleagues for Qatar 2022.
He posted on social media that he was “extremely honored to have been appointed by FIFA as a Technical Expert for the FIFA World Cup in Qatar.”
