Oluyemi Tunmise, 65, was found murdered by suspected ritualists three days after she was reported missing in Ilesa, Osun State.

According to the Osun State Police Command, the woman’s corpse was discovered in her farmland with one of her eyes removed.

According to The Guardian, the victim’s family launched a search for her after she went missing last weekend, and her body was discovered on her farm on Monday.

Yemisi Opalola, Osun State Police Public Relations Officer, said yesterday in Osogbo that the deceased’s daughter reported the discovery of her mother’s corpse to the police.

“Around 1.00 p.m. on Monday, one Dare Oluyemi of Odundun Area Ilesa reported that her mother, Oluyemi Tunmise, 65, who the family had been looking for since Saturday, had been found dead,” Opalola said.

“She stated that her mother was discovered dead with one of her eyes removed on her farm in the Fadahunsi Area of Ilesa around 11:30 a.m. on Monday by as yet unidentified assailants.”

“Police had gone to the crime scene and taken photographs.”

The PRO emphasized that the complainant who reported the incident, as well as the deceased’s other children, refused to allow the police to take their mother’s body to the mortuary or conduct further investigation.

She claimed they threatened to use violence and wanted to bury the body.
